About Me
Hello!
My name is Milyna Adriel. I’m a cradle Episcopalian/Anglican Christian (with Protestant and Roman Catholic roots!) and a lover of all things good, true, beautiful, and holy.
I have a deep admiration for good theology and the beauty of traditional liturgy, while also being a prayerful proponent of ecumenical dialogue. I enjoy reading children’s literature, and one of my favourite children’s books happens to be “A Little Princess” by Frances Hodgson Burnett. I’m interested in how the concepts of psychology, mental illness, human suffering, and joy all correspond to and are interwoven into the Christian Life. I am rather fond of a well-brewed cup of hot coffee (or tea!), and I will never turn down the opportunity for lively conversations or laughter with good friends! I enjoy spending time in nature (although mosquitoes are not my thing), and I delight in listening to a variety of music genres, even if I’m not quite proficient in any instrument. Lastly, I’m a Teacher’s Assistant who dabbles in poetry/writing and someone who firmly believes that there is nothing more noble in life than the pursuit of holiness.
I’m thrilled that you happened upon my little corner of the internet today. 🙂 May it be a small garden of reflection, sowing quiet seeds of hope, and awakening wonder within your soul.
Sincerely,
— Milyna Adriel
Some of my favourite quotes... (Words that have quietly formed my being!)
“If Nature has made you for a giver, your hands are born open, and so is your heart; and though there may be times when your hands are empty, your heart is always full, and you can give things out of that—warm things, kind things, sweet things—help and comfort and laughter—and sometimes gay, kind laughter is the best help of all.”
—Frances Hodgson Burnett, A Little Princess
“Now Faith, in the sense in which I am here using the word, is the art of holding on to things your reason has once accepted, in spite of your changing moods.”
—C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity
“It was November―the month of crimson sunsets, parting birds, deep, sad hymns of the sea, passionate wind-songs in the pines. Anne roamed through the pineland alleys in the park and, as she said, let that great sweeping wind blow the fogs out of her soul.”
―L.M. Montgomery, Anne of the Island
